I opened the Closet Audit Tracker with a coffee and three items I regret buying. Ten minutes later I had a purge pile, two tailor maybes, and a resale estimate that paid for brunch. It does the math. You get the plan.

Quick start: add five items and tap ANALYZE CLOSET. Your Purge, Tailor, and Resale lists show up in seconds.

What the Closet Audit Tracker does

It turns closet chaos into clear decisions. You add items, it looks at wear frequency, condition, fit, brand tier, original price, and age. Then it gives you three lists, Purge, Tailor, Resale, plus a snapshot of your wardrobe health, total investment, estimated resale, and average cost per wear.

Use it for a deep clean today, or keep it open as a five minute weekly habit.

How the Closet Audit Tracker works, simple and fast

  1. Add a few items. Name, category, brand, purchase price in USD, purchase date, last worn, condition, fit, season. Hit ADD ITEM. Five to start is plenty.
Categories covered: tops, bottoms, dresses, outerwear, shoes, accessories, undergarments, activewear.
Shopping across regions Use the international size converter so you do not double buy the wrong size.
  2. Watch the list grow. The counter updates in real time. Remove any oops with one click.
  3. Run it. Tap ANALYZE CLOSET to see totals and your three action lists.
  4. Save it. Tap COPY AUDIT RESULTS to paste the highlights into Notes or Sheets.
  5. Reset anytime. CLEAR ALL if you want a clean slate.

Mobile tip: add items in batches of five. You can scroll the list and remove with one tap.

Closet Audit Tracker results, what you get

  • Totals, Total Items, Total Investment, Estimated Resale, Rarely Worn percentage.
  • Closet Health Summary, Average Cost Per Wear, Well Used Items, Need Tailoring, Purge Candidates.
  • Purge List, items flagged to donate or discard, with a short reason and cost per wear.
  • Tailor List, pieces worth altering, with a simple cost estimate.
  • Resale Opportunities, best candidates to sell, with estimated resale value.
  • A Copy Audit Results button to save everything.

Closet Audit Tracker math, resale and cost per wear

  • Brand matters. It recognizes broad brand tiers, designer, premium, mainstream, fast fashion, and uses that to guide resale estimates.
  • Condition counts. Excellent holds more value than fair.
  • Age adjusts value. Older pieces depreciate. Designer fades slower, fast fashion fades faster.
  • Wear frequency drives flags. Never worn or over a year since last wear gets called out.
  • Fit issues route items. Tight, loose, or wrong length push an item to Tailor if the numbers make sense.

Reality check, quick math

  • Resale estimate, a 200 USD premium brand dress in very good condition, about two years old, often lands near 200 × 0.25 × 0.8 × 0.7, around 28 USD.
  • Cost per wear, 150 USD jeans worn monthly for two years, roughly 24 wears, about 6 USD per wear. If denim is your wildcard, run your measurements through the jeans fit calculator to avoid repeats.

These are ballpark numbers. Use them to decide fast. Fine tune when you list or price alterations.

Brand tiers and resale signals

  • Designer: Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, Burberry, Saint Laurent.
  • Premium: J.Crew, Theory, Banana Republic, Club Monaco, Everlane, COS, Arket, Massimo Dutti.
  • Mainstream: Zara, Uniqlo, Gap.
  • Fast fashion: H and M, Old Navy, Target, Forever 21, Shein.

Closet Audit Tracker example, my 10 minute audit

I added twelve things, the navy J.Crew blazer I love, a Zara wrap dress I swore I would wear, a vintage Coach bag, black ankle boots, and a few winter layers.

  • Totals, 12 items, 980 USD invested, 265 USD estimated resale, 33 percent rarely worn.
  • Lists, 3 purge, 2 tailor, 2 resale.

Highlights

  • The Zara wrap dress hit Purge, never worn in over a year, high cost per wear.
  • The J.Crew blazer landed in Tailor with an estimated 30 USD to nip the waist.
  • The vintage Coach bag showed Resale near 85 USD in very good condition.
  • The black ankle boots scored as well used, no action needed. If hats never sit right with your coats, check fit with the hat size calculator before you buy replacements.

Fair, clear, and weirdly motivating.

Purge List, quick decisions you will not regret

  • Donate or discard if it is never worn, in poor condition, or not part of your life anymore.
  • Keep only if there is a real plan, a specific event in the next 30 days.
  • Snap a photo of outgoing items for your records. It kills second guessing.
  • Sorting bras and shapewear too Recheck fit with the bra size calculator or try the Lingerie Fit Troubleshooter.

Tailor List, small fixes with big impact

The tracker mirrors common prices for simple work.

  • Tops, 15 to 25 USD for hems or light shaping.
  • Bottoms, 20 to 30 USD for hems or waist tweaks.
  • Dresses, 25 to 40 USD depending on the issue.
  • Outerwear, 35 to 50 USD for sleeves or simple shaping.
Hemming pants or taking in a dress Add a belt that actually fits with the belt size calculator.
If tailoring costs more than the piece will earn back, flip to Resale Opportunities for an estimate and next steps.

Resale Opportunities, turn clutter into cash

Designer and premium brands tend to hold value better, but condition and photos lead.

  • Clean well, shoot in daylight, include fabric, size, and measurements.
  • Start on one platform first to keep life simple.
  • Selling jewelry too Confirm sizing with the ring size finder so buyers get the right fit.
  • For modest estimates, bundle items or try local consignment.

Cost per wear and resale tips

  • Average cost per wear. A 200 USD blazer worn 50 times is 4 USD per wear. That is a win.
  • High cost per wear. Style it twice this week before you purge. Sometimes it just needed a fresh outfit.
  • Rarely worn percentage. Push this down with one in, one out, or shop your Tailor and Resale lists first.
If you like tracking value across your wardrobe, try Capsule Wardrobe Cost Per Wear to plan smarter buys.

Tips to get accurate Closet Audit Tracker results

  • Be honest with Condition and Fit, it makes the lists smarter.
  • Add the Purchase date whenever you can, age changes resale.
  • Treat Last worn as your truth mirror. If it has been a year, it is telling you something.
  • Map your shape with the Body Proportions Mapper and use its hem and rise targets when you shop.
  • Work in small batches and celebrate progress.

Start your Closet Audit Tracker audit

Add a favorite, a maybe, a never, a seasonal piece, and a pair of shoes. Tap ANALYZE CLOSET. Your three lists will tell you what to do next. Then tap COPY AUDIT RESULTS and keep your momentum.

If you want, I can tailor a game plan from your Purge, Tailor, and Resale lists, and map replacements with realistic price ranges in USD.
